GeoRisk specializes in Location-Based Services (LBS) using the state-of-the-art
in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). We essentially "location-enable"
your data and/or systems to leverage your business-intelligent decision making,
by adding a very powerful, yet often neglected, spatial dimension to data your
already have.
Whether your data is comprised of lists of customers, partners, vendors,
suppliers, service centers, distributers, employees, offices, properties,
trucks, jobs, classifieds, phone directories, e-mail addresses, network
addresses, or listings of any kind; they all have one fundamental thing in
common – and that is location. Given a location, be it static as
with physical addresses or dynamic as with mobile devices, there is a wealth of
information to lookup for that specific locality.
Location-awareness is becoming even more critical than ever before, especially
with globalization, end-user mobility, and the pervasiveness of smart-machines
and broadband. And as the boundaries between PC's, handheld devices and
mobile phones blur, it is imperative to get the information you need, when you
need it, where ever you are, on demand. In a nutshell, if you ever
thought there must be an easier way to figure out any information specific to
where you are, think location-based services from GeoRisk.
GeoRisk was founded in 1996 by a Stanford Ph.D. graduate, Aladdin Nassar, who
specializes in Risk Management & GIS Consulting. GeoRisk has cut out
a niche of its own in location-based services for the insurance,
financial, real estate, telecommunications, education and government sectors.
GeoRisk® is an exclusive U.S. registered trade and service
marks. The trademark was acquired from Lucent Technologies (www.lucent.com,
NYSE: LU), the Telecommunications giant. MapDataStore (www.mapdatastore.com)
is the online store front for GeoRisk's (www.georisk.com).
GeoRisk is a small privately-owned software & consulting firm based in the
Silicon Valley of the San Francisco Bay Area, a few miles south of Stanford
University. It would be a shame for a company that specializes in
location-based services not to pick the best location in the world for its
office, unparalleled in its human, financial, and technical resources, aside
from its natural beauty.
